Breathe Easier With DIY Masks

Now that the CDC is advising us, symptomatic or not, to wear masks when we go outside, they are, of course, nowhere to be found. At least, not in the near future.

The web is alive with mask-making info, but if you are craft-impaired like me, this DIY mask, which I discovered on YouTube, is the easiest to create: https://youtu.be/pJaVBt8q6g8.

“Designed” by a carpenter to protect his nose and lungs from construction dust, it requires no sewing. All you need is a T-shirt and a pair of scissors. (I also used a pen to mark off hand spans.) A couple of folds and cuts and you’re done. Fabric with a little stretch is easier to cut and can be adjusted to better fit your face.

Click here for another how-to. Japanese inspired and a bit more refined, this mask requires two elastic hair ties and a large square handkerchief or scarf. It could not be easier.

Just make sure you wash either mask after each use. And stay safe, everyone.
